Terrain Sighting at Aurora

Happy Holidays from TerrainThe band performed for the holiday party at Aurora Santa Rosa Hospital on Thursday 19 December. It was great to play our songs and some old familiar tunes for the staff. Aurora is such a good cause and they treated us great! Like we belong there!

Welcome the Terrain!

For the uninitiated… Our current project is “Songs for the High Sierra” about time on the John Muir Trail, America’s premier hiking trail. Starting in Yosemite National Park the trail continues 215 miles through the Ansel Adams Wilderness, the John Muir Wilderness, Sequoia National Park, King’s Canyon National Park, and ends at the highest peak in continental United States, Mount Whitney at 14,496 ft.
For this project, our words and music are inspired by the trail, and the life and writings of John Muir.
“Walk away quietly in any direction and taste the freedom of the mountaineer. Camp out among the grasses and gentians of glacial meadows, in craggy garden nooks full of nature’s darlings. Climb the mountains and get their good tidings, Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves. As age comes on, one source of enjoyment after another is closed, but nature’s sources never fail.“
– John Muir
